ITL UK celebrated its relocation into larger, centralised premises at its Heyford Park base with an official opening and party for staff and families as well as visiting guests from partner IST-Metz.
A moment’s break in one of the wettest summer’s in UK records enabled saw a crowd of over 70 gather for a joint ribbon-cutting outside the new building by ITL’s Adrian Lockwood and IST’s Dirk Jagers.
The £0.5m newly refurbished 20,000 sq ft building at 133 Heyford Park will now centralise ITL UK’s production, stores, staff recreation and catering, training, meeting and conferencing facilities as well as the company’s dedicated Customer Centre.
Key benefits of the move include added, high quality space and a centralising of resources, says ITL managing director Adrian Lockwood.
“While we still retain other premises here at Heyford, it is clear that housing our operations under one roof brings tangible cost and time-saving benefit in operational terms and development of this kind will continue as the company expands.
“From years of operating out of four sites here, we now have all our functions under one roof bringing cost and time management benefits – and not getting so wet in this rain!”
“This move marks a key point in the expansion of ITL since three of us started the business back in 2000,” added Adrian.
One such staff member, sales director Dave Johnson was awarded his 10 Year Service Award while Adrian also took the opportunity to replace a Cross Pen Dave lent him all those years ago.
Scheduled to perform the official opening, the other original staff member Eddie Deans was unfortunately unable to attend due to local floods.
And, as the heavens opened yet again, ITL staff and guests mingled to enjoy food and drink as well brave outdoor games in the wet, the evening ended with a rousing game of human table football – the home team on this occasion being the winners!
