ITL two go the distance for charity

For many, the words ‘run’ and ‘fun’ are not exactly ‘mutual’.  Not so intrepid fun runners Jason Smith, ITL CEO, and Duncan Lynchsmith from HQ’s R&D department. The two have successfully completed the 31st Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields and in the process raised funds for a major cancer charity. Jason completed the race in 2 hours 18 minutes taking 23,135thplace out of  54,000 participating while Duncan achieved a brilliant 1 hours 32 mins arriving across the finishing line in 1090th place. Says Jason: “This was by a long way the toughest physical challenge I have ever undertaken. It was much more hilly than I was anticipating and a long way!” Jason added his thanks to all those who sponsored him and helped raise £750 The Prostate Cancer Charity. ITL all at sea

Nautically-inclined teams from ITL UK showed their mettle in two diverse events last month and with mixed fortunes. Novice rowers, mostly gleaned from ITL production department, were ferried and bussed to ITL partner IST-Metz’s Dragon Boat Cup competition held annually for staff and industry partners on the picturesque river Neckar close to the company’s plant at Nürtingen, while intrepid ITL sailors braved heavy weather closer to home for the Round The Island Race. The race round the Isle of Wight is one of the UK’s biggest yachting events, this year attracting more than 1,900 entries crewed by over 12,000 yachtsmen and participants. ITL fielded crews for yachts Ruff & Reddy […]

Language skills boost for students in ITL visit

The importance of having language skills in business came home to students at engineering specialist school Carterton Commumity College when 12 pupils learning GCSE German visited ITL HQ recently. After a tour round the Upper Heywood facility, the visitors talked with management team members (all German speakers) about the day-to-day usefulness language is in the workplace. “I think we got them fired up with enough enthusiasm to want to find out more about languages at work,” says ITL CEO Adrian Lockwood. In fact, such was the success of the initial visit that the Carterton Community College team has been tasked with a special project by ITL to develop a product […]

Happy Christmas, Katharine

Christmas at Oxfordshire hospice Katharine House got a welcome boost from local fund raisers and supports and supporters including Integration Technology Ltd (ITL). ITL staff managed to raise over £500 for the hospice, which runs a palliative care service for people with life-threatening illnesses whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment. A living memorial to the life of Katharine Gadsby who tragically died of cancer at the age of twenty, the hospice relies largely on charitable donations for funding, receiving only about 35% of its costs from the local Primary Care Trusts. No charge is made to patients or their families for any of the care provided. ITL staff […]

Going Japanese – ITL takes further step in multi-lingual web offer

Following the successful launch of a Korean language micro-site, ITL has enabled Japanese-speaking visitors the opportunity to browse its product lines in their own language. The ITL Japan section of the site carries a broad overview of the company and its markets together with an introduction to ITL’s local distribution partners, Neopt corporation and Fine Sensing. A Chinese language ITL site is expected to launch by the end of the year.

PDP day out sheds light on opportunity

Oxfordshire teachers saw new light shed on the county’s rich IT engineering resource after a PDP Day at Upper Heyford-based pioneer in ultra-violet LED solutions for ink jet printing and emerging applications, Integration Technology Ltd (ITL). The visit, organised by OEBP and attended by teachers from schools in Abingdon, Witney, Carterton, Chipping Norton and Didcot, sought to develop curriculum links, enrichment activities and resources in Engineering, IT, Business and Modern Foreign Languages. ITL is a rising star in the global development of UV LED technologies that afford more efficient and ecologically sound solutions to print curing. A presentation about the business was followed by discussion and development of curriculum related […]

Bikers ride to the Challenge

When organisations across Oxford competed to see who could get the most staff to ride a bike for 10 minutes or more, staff at ITL UK HQ literally ‘rode’ to the challenge! ITL’s team – codenamed Lampland! – took part in the Oxford Cycle Challenge, a free, fun competition that gets as many colleagues as possible to ride a bike for just 10 minutes over a three week Challenge period during June. People can ride wherever they feel comfortable and at anytime over the Challenge. The Lamplanders were delighted to find themselves one of the teams to come in the winning three places in their size category by getting the […]

Back to school for Staci and Jason

Empowering the next generation to get engaged in the world of work is just one of ITL’s aims within its CSR remit, so the company was quick to accept the call from Oxfordshire Education Business Partnership (OEBP) to share its knowledge with local schools. Over recent months, marketing co-ordinator Staci Reeson and CTO Jason Smith have been tasked with visiting Oxfordshire schools for OEBP, a body tasked with connecting business and education in the county. Staci visited Chipping Norton School’s Year 8 classes to join a one-day workshop for pupils to create a business plan and develop an ecologically-sustainable product made from recycled materials. Split into groups, pupils had to […]

“If you want a job, give languages a go” was the message from Integration Technology Ltd (ITL) managing director, Adrian Lockwood for Year 10 students attending the ‘Languages Work’ Conference Day in Oxford this month (March 2010). ITL is a regular participant in OEBP initiatives both as part of […]

ITL Goes red in aid of Sports Relief

Staff at UK UV curing innovator Integration Technology Ltd (ITL) saw red at work today but all in a good cause. Purchasing Manager Peter Hosler came up with the idea of everyone at ITL’s Bicester headquarters wearing red and gifting £1.00 each to Sports Relief 2010. Sports Relief has a unique history of dedicated people doing extraordinary things to make a difference – from David Walliams’ swim across the English Channel to Eddie Izzard’s amazing marathon-a-day around the UK. All donations raised for Sport Relief go toward helping disadvantaged people, both at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries. Pictured Left To Right
